They are similar to Great Northern Beans but have thicker, more durable skin. White Kidney beans are native to Argentina and popular in Italy as ‘Italian’ kidney. White beans and their mild taste are a staple of Mediterranean cuisine. They are marinated for salads, used in soup, stew, with pasta, and are the traditional bean of minestrone soup.
